5523 Motorsports is located in beautiful San Diego, CA. We specialize in building performance engines, race car preparation, fabrication (roll cage, intercooler/plumbing, etc.), tuning, wiring harness modification and fabrication, maintenance of modified and race/track cars, aftermarket electronics installation, suspension set-up and installation, turbo system design and off-road engine development for imports. We also specialize in prototyping and practical testing of internal engine components including pistons, camshafts and crankshafts.
Our wonderful mechanic/fabricator/technician, Nick Hunter, has over ten years of experience working with sport compacts. Not only is Nick a Nissan Master Technician but he is also an ASE Master Technician and DFRT OBD II Certified. His Nissan Master Technician training includes but is not limited to new model CVT gearboxes, the newest release production engines (VQ37VHR, VQ35HR, all MR and HR family engines and the QR25DE), Altima Hybrid Certification, LEAF electric vehicle certifications and Nick is a Z/G/Murano convertible top specialist.
His strengths include intensive electrical troubleshooting, complex wiring harness fabrication, CAN diagnosis, internal engine component design, prototyping and practical testing, specialty tool design and fabrication, race car engine design and building and race car design and setup. He also specializes in steel and aluminum fabrication which includes cutting, welding, (TIG & MIG) and shaping for exhausts, roll cages, intercooler piping and turbo plumbing.
